Auld Lang Syne

Laurie Williams’s SATB harmony for Auld Lang Syne

Text is the famous first verse and chorus of the 1788 poem by Robert Burns, 1759-1796, based on a popular Scottish song.

As in common usage, “dear” replaces Burns’s original “jo”.

Music is the familiar modern version of the old Scottish pentatonic melody.

Harmony by Laurie Williams, 1995, for The Old Scholars’ Choir.

Includes an optional chorus repeat.
